Lauren started her legal career as an attorney with McGaughey & Spirito and became a partner at the firm in 2019. She litigates diverse family law matters, including complex custody and financial issues. Lauren is also highly adept at settling intricate and difficult cases.

She completed collaborative law training with the Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law Association and 40-hour intensive mediation training with Forrest S. Mosten.

In 2019, the California Board of Legal Specialization designated Lauren as a Certified Family Law Specialist. She was one of five family law attorneys in the state to be appointed to the California Board of Legal Specialization Working Group in 2020. After her designation as a Family Law Specialist, Lauren served as a grader for the Certified Family Law Specialist examination. In the 2021, 2023, and 2025 exam cycles, she participated in developing questions for the exam itself.

Lauren also helped build and develop California family law forms for Lexis Practical Guidance published in 2023 on Lexis Nexis. These forms include templates for judgments, orders, motions, discovery requests, and letters common in family law cases.

In 2021, Lauren was named a Super Lawyer Rising Star, a distinction provided to the top 2.5% of attorneys in Southern California. Since 2024, Lauren has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® for her work in family law. She has been designated as a Super Lawyer for 2026. She has also been a featured speaker at continuing education seminars for attorneys in the areas of child support and child custody.

Lauren serves on the boards of the Riviera Village Association and the South Bay Bar Association, where she co-chairs the family law section. She is a member of the family law section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and of A Better Divorce, an interdisciplinary group of professionals committed to the collaborative divorce process.

In her free time, Lauren fosters dogs pulled from shelters in Southern California.
